Adopt-a-Bolt
Do you have a "favorite" bolt that makes you shudder each time you clip it down at the Greenbelt or out at Reimers?
Maybe it's a rusty spinner, or an old piton, or a 3/8" bolt that we should replace, but just haven't gotten to yet.
If you'd like to contribute to our maintenance of these routes but don't have the time or the skills to

help replace the hardware, you can now donate the funds to replace a specific bolt. When you click
the PayPal button below, you can donate directly to the replacement of any bolt or anchor.
The donation amount is up to you, but we suggest: $10 per bolt and hanger, $15 for one bolt/rap
ring/chain at the anchor ($30 for the pair), and $30 for one bolt with a Fixe sport clip anchor
($60 for the pair). We'll replace the bolt or anchor and list your name in the sponsor
section of our route maintenance history next to the bolting record.
We'll also give you what's left of the old gear, if you want it! PayPal provides a
text box to include a message, so use that to tell us which bolt you want to adopt.
Note that we will use our discretion when deciding to replace a bolt, so if we have already replaced
the bolt you have selected or feel that it just needs to be tightened rather than replaced,
we will ask you to select another bolt. Of course, you don't have to have a specific bolt in mind
in order to donate to this worthwhile cause -- we'll certainly accept your donation and put it toward
our general route maintenance fund.
Further, you don't need to be a CTM member to contribute this Adopt-a-Bolt program.
