Become a Crag Champion! Did you miss Joel's talk on Lost Climbing Areas of Central Texas? Click here.

Medicine Wall, Cub Cave, Colorado Bend, Weiders Wall, and White Trash Wall now have crag champions, but the other areas don't. If you're willing to donate time to help track down and communicate with landowners and be an advocate for climbing access, then we want YOU! Email Joel for more information.

Next meeting: Saturday, February 11, noon at the Deadcats Wall at Reimers Ranch
Come hear the latest details about the Limestoner and all our other activites.

2012 Limestoner Climbing Competition
Saturday, March 31st, at Reimers' Ranch. Save the Date!

And sorry, climbers. Camping will not be permitted at Reimers this year because of the ongoing construction projects. Camping will be available at Pace Bend instead.

Upcoming Trail Projects
Saturday, March 3: Mt. Bonnell Clean Up
Here's your chance to rappel from the highest point in Austin! In conjunction with the Austin Parks Foundation's "It's My Park" Day, we need experienced rappellers to pick up trash under Mt. Bonnell, and also walk the trails and do the same. We'll set the topropes and provide trashbags and work gloves, you'll need your harness and belay device. Long pants and sturdy shoes/boots also recommended for the brushy terrain.

This is a kid friendly event, but only experienced rappelers will be allowed to work the cliff face and they should have a self-locking belay device or a locking backup so they can take their hands off the rope when necessary.

Meet at 9:00 a.m. in the Mt. Bonnell parking lot.
(3800 Mt. Bonnell Drive)

Sunday, March 4: Seismic Workday with UTSA Climbing Club:
We will meet at 9 am at Seismic to work on a berm to prevent erosion on the left side of the wall. Bring water, snacks, and work gloves (if you don't have gloves we have extras). We'll work until about noon, then climb.

CTM acts on significant access issues that affect our sport locally:
Enchanted Rock, the Austin Greenbelt, Reimer's Ranch, Hueco Tanks, McKinney Falls, and the Pecos are all areas where access to climbing has been secured or is under negotiation. The club also sponsors social events, slide shows, and climbing competitions. CTM is a grassroots club, and the meetings, events, and planning committees are open to everyone. One doesn’t have to join to voice an opinion or make a proposal, to volunteer for workdays at the crags, or to enjoy our sponsored events, but joining IS encouraged.
