Upcoming Events and News
Next Meeting: Monday, May 6, 7:00 pm at REI Downtown.
Michael Hammond will help us put the "Mountaineer" back in CTM by sharing a slideshow of his recent trip to climb Cerro Aconcagua in South America. At 22,841' Aconcagua is the tallest peak on earth outside of the Himalayas, and is one of the fabled Seven Summits. As Michael put it, "While not considered a technical climb, for two weeks we battled with heat, cold, high altitude, heavy packs, high winds and weather. We fought for every inch on the mountain." Sounds like a great story -- we can't wait!

Upcoming Trail Projects

Saturday, June 1: National Trails Day
Barton Creek Greenbelt/Seismic 9:00 am - 11:30 am.

We'll be working on erosion prevention on the trail from the parking lot down to Seismic Wall. Stay tuned for details!

Interested in bolting?

If you are interested in learning about or helping with route maintenance, contact Matt to get on the mailing list to find out about maintenance outings.

Special offer to CTM Bolters! CTM has purchased a stock of Climb Tech hangers for route maintenance. We purchased in bulk to get low prices. We will re-sell them to CTM members at cost. Climb Tech gave us a good deal -- $1.15/hanger -- so that's our offer to you. We also have Powers 5-piece bolts for sale at cost for $2.10 each. Contact Rona Tygress to get yours.

CTM acts on significant access issues that affect our sport locally:
Enchanted Rock, the Austin Greenbelt, Reimer's Ranch, Hueco Tanks, McKinney Falls, and the Pecos are all areas where access to climbing has been secured or is under negotiation. The club also sponsors social events, slide shows, and climbing competitions. CTM is a grassroots club, and the meetings, events, and planning committees are open to everyone. One doesn’t have to join to voice an opinion or make a proposal, to volunteer for workdays at the crags, or to enjoy our sponsored events, but joining IS encouraged.
